Tamiya German King Tiger Porsche Turret (1:35 Scale)

Developed during World War II, the Panzerkampfwagen VI-B Tiger II “King Tiger” became a formidable presence on the battlefield. This Tamiya model kit recreates the early Tiger II configuration fitted with the distinctive Porsche-designed turret, noted for its rounded front section and narrower profile when compared with the more angular Henschel alternative.

Germany began development of the Tiger II in February 1943 to counter the growing threat posed by Russian tanks. Porsche produced 50 turrets before the Henschel design was adopted for mass production, yet completed Porsche turrets still saw frontline use. The real vehicle combined thick armour plating with the Type 43 L71 88mm high-velocity main gun and was powered by a Maybach HL230 P30 V-12 liquid-cooled engine developing 700 hp. A considered choice for adult builders with an interest in WWII armour history.
