Synopses

The Shrine

After a long and eventful winter, DCI Ryan and his team look ahead to spring. Their plans are disrupted when a colleague is shot dead on her own doorstep, and senior officers suspect the crime came from within. Ryan is drafted in to investigate.

Following the dramatic theft of a priceless artefact from Durham Cathedral, the world believes St. Cuthbert’s cross has been recovered and returned. Ryan knows the cross he brought back was a fake. With the truth unresolved, the team’s problems are only just beginning.

The Rock

A fishing boat is wrecked off the treacherous North Sea coast. When the body of a young woman washes up on the beach beside Marsden Rock, DCI Ryan cannot ignore the call to duty.

Bamburgh

An old woman dies at home in the quiet village of Bamburgh, and Ryan initially thinks little of it. That changes when his wife is the one to find the body. When another body is discovered among the sand dunes beneath the castle fortress, he decides it cannot be a coincidence.

Lady's Well

In the rural village of Holystone, the ancient waters of Lady’s Well begin to run red, appearing at first to be a Hallowe’en prank. Events turn sinister when the entire village suffers severe poisoning, and an old man is found dead.
