Synopsis
Edie explains that she has cerebral palsy, which affects how she speaks and moves, and that it has never really bothered her because it is all she has known.
At the start of Year Eight, a new girl from America, Mia, joins Edie’s class, along with Mia’s twin brother, Benjamin. When their teacher, Mrs Adler, seats Mia next to Edie, Edie is excited to get to know them.
Mia wears hearing aids and seems shy, and Edie recognises how daunting it can be to start at a new school. Determined to help, Edie decides it is time for “THE FRIEND MISSION”.
