The Specials: In The Studio With The Special AKA is a 2CD expanded edition of the band’s third album, originally released in 1984 after the break-up of the original line-up. Formed in 1977 as The Coventry Automatics, the group combined Jamaican ska and rocksteady with punk energy and supported like-minded acts including Madness, The Beat and The Selecter in releasing early singles.
This set includes the original album on CD1 and additional material on CD2, including 2015 remastered versions, BBC John Peel Session recordings and instrumental versions. The album charted in the UK Top 35 and includes “(Free) Nelson Mandela” and “Racist Friend”.
