Published by Trapeze, this three-book set brings together Daniel Cole’s crime thrillers Ragdoll, Hangman and Endgame. The collection follows investigations that move between London and the US, as detectives are drawn into high-profile cases where the pressure builds and the stakes continue to rise.

Across the three novels, Detective William ‘Wolf’ Fawkes and Detective Emily Baxter confront a sequence of disturbing crimes, from a case that becomes a media fixation to a cross-Atlantic hunt for a killer who remains one step ahead. The set closes with a locked-room death initially treated as suicide, triggering renewed scrutiny, unresolved questions and an inquiry that reaches into police corruption.

Synopses

Ragdoll

A body is discovered, assembled from the dismembered parts of six victims and stitched together, and the press quickly labels it the ‘Ragdoll’. Recently reinstated to the London Met, Detective William ‘Wolf’ Fawkes is put on the case with his former partner, Detective Emily Baxter. When the killer releases a list of intended victims and the dates they will die, the investigation becomes a race against time under intense public scrutiny.

Hangman

A body is found hanging from Brooklyn Bridge with ‘BAIT’ carved into the chest. In London, a copycat killing follows, marked ‘PUPPET’, drawing DCI Emily Baxter into an uneasy partnership with Special Agents Rouche and Curtis. As deaths mount on both sides of the Atlantic and leads keep slipping away, the team must decide whether they can trust one another in time to identify who is controlling the killings.

Endgame

Retired police officer Finlay Shaw is found dead in a locked room, and the death is assumed to be suicide. Disgraced detective William ‘Wolf’ Fawkes questions that conclusion and investigates with Detective Emily Baxter and private detective Edmunds. As they examine Shaw’s early career, the inquiry pulls Wolf towards police corruption, with consequences that threaten his future and those closest to him.
