Synopsis

Vasari’s vivid, detailed profiles trace the flowering of the Renaissance across three centuries through portraits of some of Italian art’s most representative figures. This single-volume selection from his larger work focuses on eight artists: Giotto, Masaccio, Fra Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Titian.

The edition also includes an introduction, notes and a glossary, alongside woodcut portraits of each artist created by Vasari himself. Categorised as art: general, it suits readers looking for an accessible, curated entry into Renaissance artists and their lives.
