Vintage Tom An outstanding Tanzanite and Diamond ring

A platinum cluster ring containing a top quality tanzanite stone, AAAA quality, square cut 8x8mm (est 2.2 carats). Four claw setting.

Surrounded by approximately forty tapered baguette cut white diamonds, each 2x1.2mm, approximate total carat weight of 0.80 carats. Head 12x12mm, depth 4.7mm, weight 6.1 grams.

Supplied by Gem Company- Rhapsody. Hallmarks for Sheffield. No date letter. The ring seems almost new with no noticeable wear. Probably 2010-2015.

Tanzanite is the blue and violet variety of the mineral zoisite, caused by small amounts of vanadium. Tanzanite belongs to the epidote mineral group. Tanzanite is only found in Simanjiro District of Manyara Region in Tanzania, in a very small mining area approximately 7 km long and 2 km wide near the Mererani Hills.
