From Weingut Leitz, the 2022 Grand Cru Riesling Berg Kaisersteinfels GG is a dry wine shaped by a sun-trap site with well-drained soils. That setting gives the wine notable concentration and ripeness, while its style remains poised and finely detailed.

The bouquet is intense and layered, with clementine oil, ripe peach, honey and clotted cream, followed by toast, mushroom, pipe tobacco and green leaves. On the palate, the texture is more delicate than the aromas suggest, with a crystalline character, hints of muscat grapes and wet stones, and a remarkably persistent finish. Drinking well now, it also has the structure to age for a further 15 to 20 years.
