When We Got Lost in Dreamland by Ross Welford follows Malky and his younger brother, Seb, after they become the owners of a “Dreaminator”. It is a children’s fiction title centred on shared dreams and the consequences that follow.

Synopsis

Eleven-year-old Malky and Seb are drawn into worlds beyond their imagination when they discover they can share a dream with someone else. Their experiences range from tree-top flights and Spanish galleons to thrilling battles and sporting greatness, where it seems as though nothing is out of reach.

However, the story also highlights the risks of “impossible dreams”. When Seb will not wake up and is taken to hospital in a coma, Malky is pushed to leave reality behind and attempt a final journey to the stone-age in order to wake his brother.
