Yorkshire Bonsai Kiryuzuna Medium Grain Bonsai Soil

From Yorkshire Bonsai, Kiryuzuna Medium Grain Bonsai Soil is a widely used bonsai substrate suited to all trees. Similar to Akadama in colour and texture, it offers a clear visual difference between wet and dry soil, making it easier to judge when watering may be needed during routine bonsai care.

This medium grain variety contains particles between 2mm and 6mm in size. The structure is designed to support strong drainage and root aeration, and it can be used on its own or mixed with other soils. As its iron content is released as it decomposes, it is noted as especially beneficial for pines, junipers and conifers. Its long-lasting composition is also described as not breaking down for many years.
