ArmAs Karmrahyut 2016, Armenia

From ArmAs in Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province, Karmrahyut 2016 is a full-bodied red made from 100% Karmrahyut. Bottled at 13.0% ABV, it comes from vineyards planted at 700 to 1,900 metres above sea level on mountainous volcanic sites, where long ripening and cool summer nights shape the wine’s character.

Hand-harvested grapes are fermented and matured in stainless steel for eight months, with lees stirring used to build flavour and complexity. The result is an opulent, well-flavoured red with floral aromatics, mature red fruit and chocolate notes, finishing dry and fresh. Suitable for vegans, it works particularly well at the table with slow-cooked meat dishes, roast veal or grilled Mediterranean vegetables.
