Asterix And The Roman Agent Series 3 Collection 5 Books Set (11-15) brings together five adventures featuring Asterix, Obelix and their fellow Gauls as they face Roman schemes, unexpected journeys and tests of nerve. Across the collection, Julius Caesar returns with new plans, while the village contends with everything from missing treasures to attempts at psychological manipulation.
The set spans stories set in ancient Gaul and beyond, including a trip to the Olympic Games in Athens and a rescue mission in Hispania (now Spain). Along the way, the Gauls must cope with banned magic potion, a vanished cauldron of money, and a Roman agent determined to stir up jealousy and suspicion.
Years after Vercingetorix’s defeat, Julius Caesar plans a triumph using his enemy’s shield, but it has gone missing. Romans and Gauls race to find it, while Chief Vitalstatistix is away on a health farm. The search leads to a surprise, as the Gauls face the question of whether Caesar will triumph again.
Athletes gather in Athens for the Olympic Games, and Asterix and the Gauls enter as well. Their plans are complicated when magic potion is banned as an artificial stimulant. They must find a way to compete without it, while another mysterious potion sits in a cauldron in a shed with a door that will not close properly.
When Chief Whosemoralsarelastix needs a cauldron of money kept from Roman hands, it disappears while Asterix is guarding it. Asterix and Obelix set out to earn enough to repay the loss, trying a range of schemes from fairground gladiatorial contests to theatrical performances and even bank robbery. Questions of elastic morals follow, and the pirates receive an unexpected bonus.
The Iberians are holding out against Julius Caesar, and when Chief Huevos y Bacon’s son is taken hostage, the Gauls are called on to rescue him. Asterix and his friends take the boy back to Hispania, now Spain, where they encounter the tourist industry and flamenco. They also face a wild aurochs in the arena, and Cacofonix finds a fan in little Pepe.
Julius Caesar turns to psychological warfare by sending Tortuous Convolvulus, a Roman agent skilled at creating jealousy and discord. He attempts to make the Gauls suspect one another of treachery, even raising doubts about the secret of the magic potion. Asterix, Obelix and Getafix must outwit Convolvulus and restore the village to normal.
