Cellier Kleine Zalze Vineyard Selection Chenin Blanc Stellenbosch 2023

From Kleine Zalze in Stellenbosch, the 2023 Vineyard Selection Chenin Blanc is a South African white wine with a layered, textural style. Hand-harvested grapes from some of the oldest vines on the estate bring concentration, while fermentation begins in stainless steel before the wine is transferred partway through to French oak, with 20% new barrels, then matured on the lees for seven months.

The result is a rich Chenin Blanc with tropical fruit, peach and lychee, balanced by subtle oak and hints of honey. A creamy mouthfeel and elegant acidity give the wine length and poise, making it a polished bottle for the table.
