Synopsis

In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. Circe is portrayed as different from her parents and grows up scorned and rejected, belonging fully to neither gods nor mortals.

She discovers a power of her own in witchcraft, and when this gift threatens the gods she is banished to the island of Aiaia. There, she develops her craft through spells, strange herbs and the taming of wild beasts, while learning that solitude does not guarantee peace for long.

Among the visitors to her island is the mortal Odysseus, and Circe is said to risk everything for him.
