Cramele Recas Implicit Chardonnay Vegan White Wine

From Romania’s Banat region, Cramele Recas Implicit Chardonnay is a dry white wine made from Chardonnay, shaped by clay-limestone soils and south-facing slopes in Recas. Winemakers Nora and Hartley selected fruit from young parcels in the Izvin area and blended it with grapes from La Stejari and Ferma Veche.

Around 50% of the blend is matured in oak barriques for five months, adding body and aromatic complexity while preserving the wine’s fruit character. Golden yellow in the glass, it shows notes of white peach, apricot and Golden apple, with vanilla and cinnamon alongside good acidity and a persistent, creamy finish. 12.5% ABV.

Tasting notes

Palate

White peach, apricot and Golden apple, with sweet notes of vanilla and cinnamon, good acidity, well-integrated body and alcohol, and a persistent, creamy finish.

Serving suggestion

Serve at 8-10°C. Pairs well with fish with meunière or vierge sauces, poultry roulade, crustaceans, baked fish stew, porcini risotto and mould-ripened cheeses.
