Dave Pigeon 4 Books Set by Swapna Haddow collects four adventures starring Dave Pigeon and his side-kick, Skipper. Told in a playful voice, the series follows the pair as they deal with everyday pigeon problems, misunderstandings with cats, and unexpected opportunities.
Across the collection, Dave and Skipper face a dwindling food supply when their Human Lady goes on “holiday”, travel in a box to Pawsville Vets, and explore London’s sights. Along the way, they encounter new animals, a mysterious potential owner, and a royal pigeon from the Queen’s personal lofts.
The narrator claims that anyone who can read the words “obviously understand Pigeonese”. It is suggested that if a cat can read it, they may have taken a pigeon hostage to translate into Meow.
Dave Pigeon returns with Skipper, but trouble begins when their Human Lady leaves on a “holiday”. With their food supply running low, they set out to find a new owner and question whether Reginald Grimster is all he seems.
Dave and Skipper travel in a box to Pawsville Vets, where Dave may finally have his broken wing fixed. At the pet shop they meet new friends, including Jet the dog and Cricket Ball Face the hamster, as a competitive spirit builds towards a race.
In London, Dave and Skipper peck around the gates of the Royal Palace in search of high-brow snacks. They meet Prince Raju Pigeon from the Royal Lofts, who wants to experience life beyond the palace, and Dave suggests swapping places for a short while.
