David Bowie ‘Station To Station’ is an LP on black vinyl. It is the 10th studio album by the English musician, released on 23 January 1976 by RCA Records. The album was co-produced by David Bowie and Harry Maslin and recorded at Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles, California, in the latter half of 1975. The cover artwork uses a still from Nicolas Roeg’s film The Man Who Fell to Earth.
Musically, it is presented as a transitional release, developing the funk and soul approach of the previous album Young Americans while moving towards influences associated with German bands such as Neu! and Kraftwerk. The lyrics are stated to reflect preoccupations with Friedrich Nietzsche, Aleister Crowley, mythology and religion.
Suited to listeners interested in David Bowie’s 1976 album and its stated blend of funk, soul and German-influenced direction.
Makes a suitable gift for music fans and collectors.
