De Martino Gallardia Old Vine White 2020 75cl

From Chile’s cool southerly Itata region, De Martino Gallardia Old Vine White 2020 is a dry white wine made from a field blend of Moscatel and Chasselas. Sourced from very old gobelet vines planted in 1905 and dry-farmed, it brings together rustic origins and notable complexity in the glass.

The wine opens with an immediate impression of lemon meringue pie, combining zesty freshness, the lightness of meringue, the richness of lemon curd custard and pie-crust toastiness. As it develops, more layered notes emerge, including frankincense, seasoned pine wood and beeswax, with a character reminiscent of a well-aged dry Riesling.
