Drappier Carte d'Or Brut Champagne N.V.

From Drappier, Carte d'Or Brut Champagne N.V. is defined by a very high proportion of Pinot Noir, offering an experience that is nearly a Blanc de Noirs and noted for its aromatic richness. On the palate, stone-fruit character leads the way, with flavours reminiscent of white vineyard peaches. As it opens, a spicy note emerges, building into a powerful, complex mouthfeel, before finishing with a vinous character and a distinctive touch of quince jelly.

The story behind the house is rooted in Urville, where the Gallo-Romans planted the first vine around 2,000 years ago. In 1152, Saint Bernard, founder of the Clairvaux Abbey, had cellars built into the land. Seven centuries later, in 1808, the Drappier family estate was established around the medieval Abbey. Today, Michel Drappier manages the estate, using the historic cellars to store and age the wines produced there.
