Rainwater drains through the grid cavities into the ground below, helping to keep floor bearers dry and ventilated. For a neat finish, the perimeter can be filled with decorative aggregate to form a French drain and reduce rain splashback onto the building. Rot proof and chemically inert, it is designed to remain maintenance-free once installed.
