Frescobaldi Montesodi Chianti Rufina Riserva 2022 75cl

From the Castello Nipozzano estate, Frescobaldi Montesodi Chianti Rufina Riserva 2022 is a Sangiovese red drawn from a single vineyard plot at 400 metres elevation. First released in 1974 as the first Chianti Rufina cru, it reflects the estate’s long-standing focus on this exceptional site.

The 2022 vintage shows a clear ruby-red colour and a bouquet of cherries and strawberries, layered with rosehip, violet, clove and black pepper. On the palate, the tannins are elegant and silky-smooth, leading into a long, persistent finish. Hand-harvested into 15kg crates, the grapes are selected berry by berry before ageing in large Austrian and French oak barrels, followed by bottle ageing. It may be enjoyed now or cellared for over a decade.
