Frog Series 10 Books Collection Set by Max Velthuijs brings together ten stories featuring Frog and his friends. Across the collection, Frog faces everyday puzzles and bigger challenges, from wondering what makes a day “very special” to learning how to respond when something feels unfamiliar or frightening.
The set follows Frog through changing seasons and shifting emotions, including winter weather, friendship, love and moments of worry. Along the way, Frog meets Little Bear, goes digging for treasure, and discovers that being yourself matters. The stories also include situations that test courage and kindness, as Frog and his friends learn to understand one another and the world around them.
Frog is thrilled when Hare promises that today will be a very special day. When nobody can explain why, Frog sets out to discover the reason and begins to suspect Hare is playing a trick.
On an autumn day, Frog finds a little bear alone in the forest and takes him home as a new friend. Hare insists the bear is only a toy, but Frog decides he will teach him.
Frog wakes to find the world has turned completely white and bitterly cold. The ice and snow are fun for his friends, but the weather feels far too cold for Frog to join in.
Heavy rain causes the river to burst its banks, leaving Frog, Duck, Pig and Hare stranded. Frog risks his life to help his friends.
Frog and Little Bear go digging for treasure, even though Little Bear doubts it exists. They dig so deep they cannot climb out, and someone must rescue them before they can find out what they have discovered.
Frog wishes he could do what his friends can do, from flying like Duck to baking like Pig and reading like Hare. After repeated failures, Hare reminds him that his friends love him as he is, and that Frog can swim and leap better than any of them.
Frog, Duck and Pig do not believe in ghosts until they hear frightening noises in the night. They crowd into Pig’s bed for comfort, and in the morning Hare is alarmed to find Frog’s house empty and no answer at Pig’s.
Frog finds a blackbird lying motionless in the grass and asks his friends what could be wrong. The animals begin to understand the meaning of death and the beauty of life.
Frog feels unwell, swinging from hot to cold, with a “thump, thump” in his chest. Hare tells him it means he is in love, and Frog wonders who it could be and how to show his devotion.
When Rat arrives and camps at the edge of the woods, Frog’s friends are unhappy. Frog befriends Rat, and the others learn that being different does not mean being bad.
