Vet on the Loose

With the arrival of her third child approaching, Gillian decides to leave mixed practice and set up a small animal clinic from home. The account follows night-time emergencies, new arrivals and final farewells as she tries to keep going with support from her husband and three pre-school children.

Continuing her story, Gillian is no longer a “green” graduate, yet still finds herself tested by animals and owners in ways not covered in textbooks. Based in a mixed animal practice in Wicklow, she also travels regularly to Dublin to work in the Bluecross clinic, and finds it difficult to combine both roles.
