This four-book collection brings together retellings centred on women from Greek myth, spanning mortal lives shaped by kings and heroes, and the power struggles of the gods. The set includes Ariadne, Elektra, Atalanta and Hera, each exploring choices made under pressure, the consequences of violence and vengeance, and the shifting influence of divine forces.

Across these stories, a princess of Crete faces the dangers of the Labyrinth and the attention of the gods; three women are bound to the curse of the House of Atreus; a girl raised in the wild seeks a place among celebrated heroes; and an immortal goddess questions the cost of rule beside Zeus. Together, the novels present a range of perspectives on fate, ambition and power.

Synopses

Ariadne

Ariadne, Princess of Crete and daughter of King Minos, grows up in a palace shadowed by the Labyrinth below, where the Minotaur demands blood. When Theseus, Prince of Athens, arrives as a sacrifice, she sees a chance to escape, but helping him means betraying her family and risking the wrath of the gods. In a world where women are treated as pawns, her choice may come at a devastating cost.

Elektra

The House of Atreus is cursed, its bloodline marked by violence and vengeance. The story follows Clytemnestra, Cassandra and Elektra as their lives become entwined with the curse and the unpredictable will of men and gods. As war and bloodshed close in, each woman faces what it means to be bound to a fate she did not choose.

Atalanta

Born to the King of Arcadia and met with disappointment, Atalanta is left exposed on a mountainside and raised by a mother bear under the protection of Artemis. Determined to prove her worth, she leaves the forest to join Jason’s Argonauts. She must fight to make her mark in legends shaped for men.

Hera

Hera, immortal goddess and daughter of the Titan Cronus, helps Zeus overthrow their tyrannical father and dreams of ruling beside him. As their reign on Mount Olympus begins, she fears Zeus may mirror the cruelty they sought to end. This retelling presents Hera as vengeful when required, compassionate, and an all-powerful queen of the gods.
