This five-book collection brings together a selection of mysteries featuring private investigator Kate Shackleton, set across Yorkshire and London in the late 1920s and 1930. Written by Frances Brody, the set follows Kate as she is drawn into cases sparked by unusual invitations, anonymous correspondence and unsettling discoveries.

From an eclipse viewing party at Giggleswick School Chapel to a mill village in Saltaire and a railway yard in London before dawn, each story places Kate at the centre of events where questions quickly outnumber answers. Alongside her investigative work, the collection also touches on her interest in photography during a visit to Haworth and Stanbury in Brontë country.
