The metallic-lined construction uses three layers of materials (foil lining, PVC, then the chosen fabric or wallpaper), helping the exterior colour stay rich and opaque. Light does not permeate through the sides; instead, it reflects from the metallic lining to cast directional light from the top and bottom of the shade.
