Synopsis

As heroes cross a war-torn Overworld to face the Arch-Illager and his army, this story looks back to the beginnings of that threat. It traces the Arch-Illager’s origins to Archie, a small Illager who is bullied by his own kind and mistrusted by fearful Villagers, leaving him searching for a place to belong.

Travelling alone through deep forests and craggy mountains, Archie discovers a dark cavern and the Orb of Dominance. The Orb whispers promises of power, offering him the means to wield magic and reshape the world that rejected him, so long as he follows its instructions. A final uncertainty hangs over the journey: is Archie controlling the Orb, or is it quietly controlling him?
