Artemis Fowl: The Ultimate Collection brings together eight books in Eoin Colfer’s series, following Artemis Fowl, introduced as a twelve-year-old villain and criminal mastermind. Across the collection, Artemis becomes entangled with the fairy People and the LEPrecon (Lower Elements Police Reconnaissance Unit), including Captain Holly Short and her senior officer, Commander Root.

The stories include kidnappings, ransoms and escalating conflicts, from illegal human power sources reaching goblins to threats involving demons, time travel and the city of Atlantis. As events unfold, Artemis is repeatedly drawn into high-stakes confrontations, including the return of the pixie Opal Koboi and challenges that test alliances between humans and fairies.

Synopses

Artemis Fowl

Artemis Fowl, a twelve-year-old villain and criminal mastermind, plans to hold a leprechaun to ransom. After kidnapping Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon, he discovers he has taken on more than expected, as fairy technology is more advanced and Commander Root is determined to get her back.

The Arctic Incident

Illegal human power sources are being supplied to goblins, and Holly Short suspects her arch-enemy Artemis Fowl. Meanwhile, Artemis faces a ransom demand of his own when his father is held captive, and he may need help for a plan to succeed.

The Eternity Code

Artemis Fowl is again described as a twelve-year-old villain and ingenious criminal mastermind. His plan to hold a leprechaun to ransom escalates when he kidnaps Captain Holly Short of the Lep-Recon unit.

The Opal Deception

Opal Koboi returns, seeking power over both the fairy People and humans. Holly Short looks to Artemis for help, but the fourteen-year-old genius she needs does not remember that fairies exist, raising the question of how she can persuade him to act.

The Lost Colony

After the fairy People were forced underground, the demons remained undefeated. When a demon uncovers secrets of the fairy world, the risk of humans obtaining this information grows, and Artemis Fowl is identified as the one person who can prevent disaster.

The Time Paradox

Artemis Fowl takes on a personal mission when his mother becomes dangerously ill. With Holly Short, he must go back in time to confront his younger, more evil self in the search for a cure.

The Atlantis Complex

Artemis commits his fortune to a project he believes will save the planet’s human and fairy inhabitants, but Holly Short is unconvinced. She discovers Artemis is suffering from the Atlantis Complex, a psychosis common among guilt-ridden fairies, with symptoms including obsessive-compulsive behaviour, paranoia and multiple personality disorder.

At the same time, a foe from Holly’s past threatens the city of Atlantis. Artemis must escape the confines of his mind and other dangers in time to protect the underwater metropolis and its fairy inhabitants.

The Last Guardian

Opal Koboi plots to exterminate mankind and become a fairy queen, with consequences that could unleash long-dead fairy warriors into nearby bodies. Artemis and Captain Holly Short of the Lower Elements Police must try to stop Opal, with Artemis’s four-year-old brothers, Myles and Beckett Fowl, potentially caught up in events.
