Paper High Indra Medium Embossed Leather Journal

From Paper High, the Indra Medium Embossed Leather Journal is a Fair Trade journal crafted using a blend of contemporary and traditional methods. Each one is hand-bound and designed to stand up to everyday knocks and bumps as you travel with it. The leather cover is made using a by-product of the meat industry in India, tanned with natural dyes and protected with natural oils to soften and age over time. Embossed detailing is created with small handmade tools, making every journal unique; the pattern may vary from the one pictured.

Inside, unlined pages are made from handmade khadda paper (also known as kaddi or khaddi), created from recycled, unbleached cotton salvaged from waste in the Indian garment industry. Lightly textured and thick, it suits writing, drawing, painting and scrapbooking. It works well with ball-point pens, gel pens and watercolours, but is not recommended for fountain pens. Natural creases, bumps and marks are part of the handmade character; if you prefer a less distressed finish, a more suitable version can be selected on request.
