Mr Majeika Collection 14 Books Set brings together fourteen stories about Mr Majeika, an ex-wizard who becomes the new teacher of Class Three at St Barty’s School. From the moment he arrives in an unexpected way, ordinary school life is frequently interrupted by spells, surprises and the ongoing nuisance caused by Hamish Bigmore.
Across the collection, Class Three encounters everything from strict Halloween rules and a ghost train to a fog-bound hotel near Hadrian’s Wall. Mr Majeika’s magic often helps, but it can also go wrong, especially when his old enemy Wilhelmina Worlock appears with new tricks. With school trips, Book Week chaos, a classroom transformed and even an arrest by the Silly Crime Squad, these adventures keep returning to St Barty’s for more mischief.
Magic carpets are not meant to appear at school, but Class Three’s new teacher arrives through the classroom window and lands with a bump. Mr Majeika can act like an ordinary teacher, yet he uses magic to deal with the class nuisance, Hamish Bigmore, turning him into a frog. The problem is that he cannot remember the spell to change him back, and school life becomes far more unusual, including a magic-carpet ride to Buckingham Palace.
Mr Majeika and Class Three set off on a school trip that leads to a journey down a magic river. There is also a battle to save St Barty’s from the wrecking ball, alongside work experience for the class.
Class Three faces strict behaviour rules for Halloween, and Mr Majeika tries to make the evening memorable with a little magic. Hamish Bigmore tells the local press, and Mr Majeika is sacked. With school suddenly lacking magic, he tries other jobs, while his enemy Wilhelmina Warlock is behind the trouble and must be defeated before life returns to normal.
When Mr Majeika and Class Three board a ghost train, real ghosts appear. Wilhemina Worlock is close by, but Jody comes to the rescue, with a dragon to help her.
Lunch hour at St Barty’s becomes unpleasant thanks to the dinner lady, Mrs Chipchase. Hamish Bigmore is treated as her favourite friend and is allowed chocolate instead of school dinners. Mr Majeika decides it is time to sort out the menu.
After Mr Jenks retires, St Barty’s appoints a new caretaker: Hamish Bigmore’s Uncle Wilf, who is rude and bad-tempered. When Mr Majeika is hurt in an accident, it becomes clear Uncle Wilf is working for Wilhelmina Warlock. Mr Majeika must use magic to put things right.
A new music teacher arrives and throws St Barty’s into confusion. Strange smells come from the staffroom and creepy-crawlies appear. The new teacher is Wilhelmina Worlock, and Mr Majeika has to try to outwit her.
Stranded in fog at night, Mr Majeika and Class Three end up in a creepy hotel near Hadrian’s Wall. Strange lights, ghostly sounds and vanishing people make it clear that something is not right.
During Book Week, Mr Majeika makes a spell too strong and famous storybook characters appear. Trouble follows when Wilhemina Worlock turns up at the school’s Olympic Sports Day, and Mr Majeika must find a solution.
Class Three gets a new computer, and while exploring it, Mr Majeika traps the whole class in the school website. A series of adventures follows as they meet bizarre characters before they can escape.
A school inspector arrives with a strict rule: magic by teachers is forbidden. Mr Majeika ends up at the bottom of the class and accidentally turns himself into a lobster. Class Three must find a way to get Wilhemina Worlock to undo the spell.
When Class Three visits the circus, it is not as fun as expected. Mr Majeika casts a small spell to help the performers, but Billy Balance kidnaps him to demand magical help all the time. While Mr Majeika is trapped, Wilhelmina Worlock turns the classroom into a circus, and the children spend the afternoon running from lions and alligators.
Mr Majeika’s magic saves the day, the class and the circus end up on the news, and Mr Potter the headmaster misses it all.
Mr Majeika says he is useless as a wizard, but Class Three disagrees, especially when his spells go wrong. Hamish Bigmore ends up on TV, a real giant appears in the school play, and Mr Majeika gets the class lost on a magic carpet.
Class Three becomes worried when Mr Majeika leaves without saying goodbye. They find a message saying he has been arrested by the Silly Crime Squad, and they decide to rescue him. To succeed, they must outwit Hamish Bigmore and Wilhelmina Worlock, who is punished with a spell on earth as a supply teacher.
