Raimat Pirinenca Tempranillo Catalunya 2016

From Wineries Raimat, Raimat Pirinenca Tempranillo is a Catalunya red wine from the 2016 vintage. Raimat was the second major project of the Raventos family, pioneers in the production of cava in Spain through their winery Codorniu, and the estate’s story is closely tied to its distinctive architecture.

The first Raimat winery was built in 1918 by the modernist architect Rubio i Bellver, considered innovative for its time. In 1988, it was renovated by architect Domingo Triay, who designed a two-storey pyramid. In the cellar, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation before spending over a year in French and American oak barrels, a process intended to round the tannins and develop a more distinctive bouquet.
