Screaming Trees ‘Sweet Oblivion’ Expanded Edition is a remastered 2CD collection in digipack format. Originally recorded in 1992 after the band were joined by drummer Barrett Martin, it follows 1991’s ‘Uncle Anaesthesia’ on Epic Records and continues the group’s blend of psychedelic elements with a more commercial hard rock direction.
Produced by Don Fleming and mixed by Andy Wallace, the set adds non-album material across a dedicated bonus disc. Extras include ‘Maybe (Van’s New One)’ sung by Van Conner, ‘E. S. K.’ from the album sessions, and ‘Winter Song (Acoustic Version)’ recorded with Jack Endino, who also guests on slide guitar. The booklet includes memorabilia, period artwork, and a 4,500 word essay based on new interviews with Jack Endino and Gary Lee Conner.
