Synopses

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Earth is demolished to make way for a new hyperspace express route, leaving Arthur Dent facing far more than the loss of his house earlier that day. As the weekend begins, the Galaxy proves full of hazards and indignities, and even finding a cup of tea is unexpectedly difficult.

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

With the biggest questions of existence resolved, one remains: where to have dinner. The Restaurant at the End of the Universe offers the ultimate gastronomic experience, with no morning after to worry about.

Life, the Universe and Everything

After a series of catastrophes, Arthur Dent finds himself in a miserable cave on prehistoric Earth. An eddy in the space-time continuum drops him and Ford Prefect, along with their flying sofa, into Lord’s cricket ground shortly before the world is due to be destroyed by the Vogons.

Escaping the end of the world again, Arthur, Ford and Slartibartfast set out on a reluctant mission to save the galaxy from fanatical robots.

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

Arthur Dent believes he is the only human to have mastered the knack of flying, until he meets Fenchurch. Convinced the answer lies in God’s Final Message to His Creation, they search for it and, breaking with tradition, actually find it.

Mostly Harmless

Arthur Dent settles on the small planet Lamuella as a Sandwich Maker, hoping for a quiet life. The arrival of his daughter changes everything, and when she runs away, Arthur follows, determined to protect her from the universe’s horrors.
