The Little Princess 10 Book Set Collection brings together ten stories featuring the determined Little Princess as she makes her feelings known about everyday routines and family life. Across the collection, she insists on what she wants, questions rules, and reacts when things do not go to plan.
From learning to use the potty and remembering to wash hands, to dealing with bedtime, dinner and a missing dummy, each tale follows her spirited attempts to get her own way. The set also includes stories centred on her mum and dad, plus an adventure sparked by a wish for snow.
Fed up with nappies, the Little Princess looks for something better and learns to love the potty. Even so, it is not always there when she needs it.
She loves getting her hands dirty, but hates washing them. That changes when she learns about the “nasties” and other unpleasant things that can make you ill.
Going camping, she refuses help and sets off alone to find a place to camp. Once there, she realises she has forgotten a few things, which then appear when her back is turned, as if by magic.
With a royal set of sparkling white teeth, she brushes them carefully and eats the right food. When one tooth falls out, she searches for it and demands it back immediately.
She asks why she must go to bed when she is not tired and tries every trick to avoid it, from cupboard monsters to escape. When she finally falls asleep, her bed is empty.
She wants her dinner, as well as her teddy and her potty. After several tantrums, she learns that good manners matter, while Beastie must also learn “please” and “thank you” to get his dinner back.
Her dummy keeps disappearing and she is not amused. No matter where the King and Queen hide it, she always finds it, and the question remains whether anyone can persuade her to give it up.
After a day of mishaps and a monster under the bed, the castle echoes with “I Want My Mum!”, because Mum always knows what to do. The next day she goes to play with the Little Duchess, while the Queen misses her little girl.
Jealous of what other dads can do, she compares them with the King, who burns buns and gets lost. When the Maid offers to help, she seems satisfied, until she wonders whether she has more in common with her dad than she thought.
After the Queen sends a photo of feeding penguins, the Little Princess decides she wants snow. The palace tries everything from sandmen to mud balls, but she will not be satisfied until she gets what she wants.
