The Saboteur of Auschwitz: The Inspiring True Story of a British Soldier Held Prisoner in Auschwitz is written by Colin Rushton. It is presented as a true story of a British soldier who was held as a prisoner of war.

Synopsis

In 1942, a young British soldier, Arthur Dodd, is captured by the German Army and transported to Oswiecim in Polish Upper Silesia, a place the Germans renamed Auschwitz. There, he is forced into hard labour, starved and brutally beaten, and comes to believe he will not survive.

Determined to resist, Arthur sabotages Nazi industrial work and risks his life to ease the suffering of Jewish prisoners. The account also describes his involvement in supporting a partisan group planning a mass break-out, while offering further insight into camp operations, the SS hierarchy of prisoner treatment, and the lesser-known presence of military POWs held at Auschwitz.
