Villa Maria EarthGarden Merlot - Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

From Villa Maria, the EarthGarden Merlot - Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a red wine with deep purple colour and a perfumed nose of dark fruits, cocoa, sweet vanilla and clove spices. Full bodied yet soft and generous on the palate, it shows ripe fruit, silky tannins and a smooth finish.

Villa Maria’s approach in the vineyards centres on environmental responsibility and sustainable practices designed to protect the land for future generations. The brand has farmed Pinot Noir organically since 2010, gaining BioGro certification in 2012.

In the winery, wild fermentation was encouraged; where this was not possible, BioGro approved yeast strains were used to inoculate the fermentation after crushing. Post-fermentation, the wine was pressed to oak with 10% new oak, then matured for 10-12 months before bottling.
