Synopsis

As war is declared once more, a shadow falls over Britain and the staff at the luxurious Buckingham hotel must do all they can to keep their important guests content, even as fear grows behind the scenes. Away from the glitz and glamour of the ballroom, they are forced to confront a new reality.

Newlywed Nancy faces the prospect of separation as her husband, the dancer Raymond de Guise, wants to enlist and fight for his country. With a new hotel manager in charge, and with fashionable society leaving London while staff depart to sign up for service, the future is uncertain and life at the Buckingham is set to change.
