Designed for rigging and lifting assemblies, these DIN1142 wire rope grips from Rackhams provide a practical way to form secure loops in wire rope or create a temporary join when required. Supplied as a pack of 2, each grip suits 34mm wire rope and features a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use on board boats as well as for similar applications on land.

For safe, reliable performance, installation should be carried out by a qualified person. Prior to fitting, grease the threads on the nuts and bolts, then tighten each nut evenly in turn to achieve the recommended torque settings. After assembly, leave unused for 24 hours before re-checking torque, and repeat checks after the first application of load and periodically during service. Ensure correct orientation during fitting, with the U-bolt placed on the unloaded end of the rope, and maintain spacing between grips of at least 6 times the diameter of the rope.
