Designed for rigging and lifting assemblies, these DIN1142 wire rope grips from Rackhams provide a practical way to form secure loops in wire rope or create a temporary join when required. Supplied as a set of 2, each grip suits 40mm wire rope and features a zinc-plated finish.

Suitable for use on board boats in a rigging set-up, as well as similar applications on land, these grips are manufactured from mild steel with a zinc coating for corrosion resistance. For lifting-purpose assemblies, installation should be carried out by a qualified person, with torque settings checked during fitting and periodically during service.

Safety information

• For lifting-purpose assemblies, ensure installation is carried out by a qualified person
• Before fitting, grease the threads on the nuts and bolts
• Allow at least 6 times the rope diameter between grips
• Fit with the ‘U’ bolt on the unloaded end of the rope
• Tighten each nut evenly and in turn to achieve the recommended torque settings
• Leave unused for 24 hours, then re-check torque settings and re-tighten if required
• After the first application of load, re-check torque settings and re-tighten if required
• During service, periodically check torque settings
