Treatment & maintenance

Corten steel is supplied in its normal metal colour and will develop a rusty protective layer over time when exposed to atmospheric conditions. This surface helps protect against corrosion and does not require painting. To accelerate the weathering process, the surface can be sprayed with soap water and salt water. Avoid contact with the developing rust layer to help prevent staining on clothing.
