Treatment & maintenance

Corten steel is supplied in its normal metal colour and will develop its rusted protective layer over time once exposed to outdoor conditions. This material does not require painting. To accelerate the rusting process, it can be sprayed with soap water and salt water. Avoid contact with the developing rust layer to help prevent staining on clothing.
