Budureasca The Sign Feteasca Neagra Wild Red Wine

From Budureasca in Romania’s Dealu Mare region, The Sign Feteasca Neagra Wild is a dry red wine made from Feteasca Neagra, with 14% ABV. Created in 2022 using only wild native yeasts naturally present on the grapes, it was made to express the variety with clarity and without oak ageing.

The grapes were selected from a vineyard plot at 200 metres altitude, with chernozem, sand and gravel soils. In the glass, it shows a dark ruby red colour and an aromatic profile of ripe plums and red currants. The palate is full, with ripe tannins and a refined sense of structure, followed by a long, velvety finish. A natural partner for duck, pork, lasagne, pasta with Bolognese sauce and semi-hard cheeses.
