Synopses

The School for Thieves

Gabriel, a 13-year-old pickpocket, is caught stealing. Instead of being arrested, he is invited by Caspian Crook to attend Crookhaven, where students are trained in skills such as lock-picking, forgery and “crim-nastics”, with the intention of doing good by conning the bad and helping the innocent.

The Forgotten Maze

In Gabriel’s second year at Crookhaven School for Thieves, he faces a Break-In challenge to the teachers’ section of the library and begins a new class called Reclamation. He and his friends also learn about Maravel’s Maze, hidden beneath the lake: a forgotten labyrinth of obstacles designed to test crook-related skills, with challenges that are nearly impossible.

The Island Heist

Gabriel’s third year includes a Break-In challenge to Reclamation island and new classes such as Signs & Signals. Gabriel and his friends also set their sights on taking down the Nameless, described as criminals who steal, trick and kidnap for their own benefit rather than to do good in the world.

The Impossible Fortress

In Gabriel’s fourth year at Crookhaven School for Thieves, the challenges intensify. Alongside mastering a new class, Lay of the Land, Upper Delinquents begin thinking about life after Crookhaven as their schoolwork takes on real-world implications, with a Break-In challenge set at an external location known as the Impossible Fortress.
