Synopsis

First published in 1992, this edition revisits Gurney’s vision of Dinotopia, an undiscovered island where humans and intelligent dinosaurs live in harmony. The artwork ranges from sweeping panoramas to close-up studies of the island’s inhabitants, presented with renewed clarity in this anniversary printing.

Told through journal-style entries and sketches, the narrative frames its sense of adventure and discovery through a visitor’s perspective, offering glimpses of a distinctive culture and a cooperative interspecies technology. A considered choice for readers drawn to fantasy and science fiction, and for anyone who values illustrated storytelling.
