For staircases with two changes in direction, the Handrails Direct Blakedown Midnight Wood double winder handrail system brings together the look of natural timber with the practicality of a steel core. Designed for indoor use, this handrail system creates a neat, continuous run across double winder staircases while offering a dark wood effect finish with visible grain, subtle tonal variation and texture.

Handrails Direct uses a vinyl wrap process to bond the decorative surface to the steel core, giving Blakedown Midnight Wood a lighter, easy-to-maintain construction without the upkeep associated with real wood. Suitable for floor-to-floor heights up to 2800mm, it can be fitted to left- or right-turning double winder staircases and is fully compatible with the wider 40mm indoor handrail system. Accessory options are available in Loxley Antique Brass or Radway Chrome to suit different interior styles.

Please note

• A discreet join line is present on the underside of each pole as part of the wrapping process and should be positioned facing downwards during installation
• Poles can be cut to length if your staircase measures under 7.2 metres

Installation

• Suitable for double winder staircases turning left or right
• Use a fine-toothed hacksaw with 24 to 32 TPI if cutting the poles to length
• No specialist tools are required
