Helmsman Chardonnay NV offers a poised balance of ripe fruit and gently integrated oak. Expect stone fruit and fig notes with subtle citrus flavours, rounded out by a toasty oak character that supports rather than dominates the wine’s delicate fruit profile. Fermentation took place partially in tanks and oak barrels, a considered approach that allows the oak to play a complementary role.

This is described as a particularly ripe-tasting vintage, shaped by the 2015 weather conditions: a warm, sunny spring followed by above-average rainfall in January, then dry weather in March that helped ripening and delivered good yield and good quality grapes.
