Hornby presents the British Rail Class 66 775 ‘HMS Argyll’ as a 1:76 scale model for model railway layouts and collections. Produced in Hornby’s Railroad range, it comes ready-to-run and operates on analogue DC control. Finished in GB Railfreight company markings, it reflects a locomotive type that has become a familiar sight on Britain’s rail network since its introduction in 1998.
The real Class 66 is a six-axle diesel-electric freight locomotive developed by Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD), a division of General Motors. First ordered in large numbers by English, Welsh / Scottish Railway (EWS), the class went on to be built in Canada and the United States, with the first arrival in the UK in June 1998. For layout planning, this model is best suited to 438mm radius curves.
Please note: Colours shown are as accurate as possible, though may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
