From Janneau, this Armagnac VSOP is a French Appellation Contrôlée brandy shaped by a spirit-making tradition that spans 700 years. Armagnac is recognised as the oldest spirit in France (and possibly the world), and sits alongside Cognac and Calvados as one of the country’s three protected brandy appellations.

Symbolic of the Janneau house style, the VSOP is blended from carefully selected eaux-de-vie, with some matured for up to 20 years in new oak casks in Janneau’s ancient cellars. International spirit competitions have awarded Janneau more medals than any other producer, and this VSOP blend alone has received 6 gold and 6 silver medals.

Armagnac is also notable for releasing brandies by vintage. Janneau matures its vintages for a minimum of 18 years before bottling, allowing the spirit to soften and develop in complexity.
