Murfatlar Lacrima lui Ovidiu Fortified White Wine Aged 12 Years

From Murfatlar in Dobrogea, Lacrima lui Ovidiu is a fortified Romanian white wine aged for 12 years in oak barrels. Made from Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Muscat Ottonel, with proportions varying according to the harvest years, it develops a mature, sweet character shaped by extended oak ageing.

The palate is light and pleasant, with woody, caramelised, cedar and oak aromas alongside a delicate note of honey. Its amber-golden colour and long, lingering aftertaste give it a composed, dessert-led style that suits slow serving and attentive tasting. 16% ABV.
