Steps Out

Poppy Love studies ballroom dancing in Brighton with her partner Zack at the Blue Horizon Dance School, taught by Sarah Johnson. As they prepare for the South East Juvenile Ballroom Dancing Competition, they practise dances including the cha-cha-cha, jive, waltz, tango and quickstep, and perform the samba at the Southern Counties Festival of Dance. The book contains four stories featuring dance, music, make-up and dresses.

Faces The Music

Poppy, Zack and Zack’s cousin Anna go to a tea dance and perform the waltz. Poppy also organises entertainment for her brother’s birthday party, while Zack begins to lose heart with dancing. This book includes four stories.

Rock 'n' Roll

Poppy continues working towards her ballroom ambitions with Zack in Brighton. With help from Grandad, they learn the rock ’n’ roll, take their three-dance medal test, and Poppy and her dad dance the cha-cha-cha at a new local restaurant. A new boy joins Poppy’s dancing class across four stories.

Star Turn

Poppy and the children at the Blue Horizon Dance Studio perform for the residents at Great Oaks and learn how the foxtrot is really done. The competition class takes a medal test featuring the foxtrot, rumba and salsa. Poppy is bridesmaid at Aunt Jill’s wedding and gets everyone dancing the bossa nova, with three further stories included.

In The Spotlight

Poppy and her friends practise for their Nationwide Finals, including a dancing game at Auntie Jill and Uncle Simon’s house-warming party. Poppy becomes choreographer for the school pantomime of Cinderella and has to deal with two difficult ugly sisters.

Poppy and her friends prepare for a big competition in Blackpool. Excitement turns to worry when Zack trips over Lucky and breaks his wrist. With the Nationwide Finals only six weeks away, the question is whether he will be able to dance.

All That Jazz

At the start of summer, Poppy and Zack attend summer school, learning tap, the cha-cha-cha and jazz dance. Poppy becomes so absorbed that she nearly forgets her birthday and is in for a surprise.

On holiday in France, Poppy and her brother Tom meet Fabian and Josette. Josette teaches Poppy new dances, leading to a performance in the town square.

Dancing On Air

Poppy Love and her partner Zack Bishop, along with friends Emma and Steve, get parts in a stage show of Bugsy Malone. It proves to be only the beginning, as the children are also chosen for the West End production and even dance on television. This is the ninth book in the series.

Takes The Floor

In the tenth and final book, Poppy and Zack perform in their final London show of Bugsy Malone. Poppy applies for a place at Burne Hall, a prestigious full-time dance school, as the Loves move from Brighton to London and Auntie Jill and Uncle Simon’s baby is born.
